The third edition of the joint training exercise named ‘EX-DUSTLIK’ between the armies of India and Uzbekistan began in Yangiarik, Uzbekistan. India is being represented by the Grenadiers Regiment while the Uzbek Army contingent is being represented by soldiers from the North Western Military District. The previous edition of DUSTLIK was held in Ranikhet, Uttarakhand. The joint exercise will focus on counter-insurgency operations in semi-urban areas.

2. What is the theme of ‘Bihar Diwas’ 2022?

Bihar celebrated its 110th foundation day on 22 March. The state of Bihar was separated from the Bengal Presidency on this day in 1912. The theme of this year’s Bihar Day is ‘Jal Jeevan Hariyali’. A three-day function will be organized on this occasion, in which more than 18 departments and various organizations of the state will participate. A drone show will also be organized in which 500 drones will fly together.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Biplobi Bharat Gallery at Victoria Memorial Hall in Kolkata via video conferencing on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day. This gallery displays the contribution of the revolutionaries in the freedom struggle and their resistance to the British colonial rule. It shows the birth of revolutionary movement, formation of associations by revolutionary leaders, spread of movement, formation of Indian National Army, contribution of naval rebellion, etc.

4. “Step-Up to End TB- World TB Day Summit 2022” was organized in which city?

Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the “Step-Up to End TB- World TB Day Summit 2022” on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day in New Delhi. The Union Health Minister will award the best performing states and districts to achieve TB eradication. In 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the Delhi End TB Summit and proposed to end TB in India by 2025, 5 years ahead of the 2030 TB-related SDG targets.

5. Which country has launched ‘BRICS Vaccine R&D Centre’?

The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya launched the ‘BRICS Vaccine R&D Centre’. The BRICS Vaccine Research & Development Center was proposed to be set up as part of the 2018 Johannesburg Declaration. In the announcement of the XIII BRICS Summit in New Delhi, the leaders committed to launch the BRICS Vaccine R&D Center in a virtual format.
