To mark the occasion, the President was presented with a Guard of Honor by 150 soldiers and a ceremonial parade was held.

President’s Color

It is the highest award or honor that can be given to any military unit of India. The award is also called the ‘mark’ as it is a symbol which will be worn on the left arm of the uniform by the officers of the respected units. The award serves as a token of outstanding service to the receiving unit. Although the practice of carrying the President’s Colors award into battle has ceased, the practice of receiving, holding and parading it is still practiced in the armed forces. The award can be given to a military unit as a gesture of recognition of the exceptional service rendered to the country during both war and peace.

INS Valsura

INS Valsura was established in 1942. It is one of the premier training establishments of the Indian Navy. INS Valsura has been entrusted with the responsibility of training sailors and officers of the Indian Navy and Coast Guard. Officials from foreign countries having friendly relations with India are also trained here. It provides training on electronics, electrical, information technology and weapon systems.
