Speech on Global Warming – 1
Good morning my respected teachers and teachers and my dear colleagues. I want to give a speech on Global Warming on this occasion. Global warming is a growing environmental issue all over the world. No one country is responsible for this, but countries all over the world are responsible for increasing this problem. Basically because of global warming and due to some of our daily activities, there has been a global increase in the temperature of the earth.
Many of our activities heat the earth which ultimately increases its temperature. An increase in temperature occurs when greenhouse gases (eg; carbon dioxide, water evaporation, nutritive oxide, methane etc.) trap the light around us and the heat of the sun. Ultimately the rise in temperature harms the life of humans, animals and plants. There are many reasons for increasing global warming, however, some of the primary and main factors are considered to be the greenhouse effect.
Green house effect is caused by gases like greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide, chloro-fluoro carbon, methane, nitrous oxide etc. Such greenhouse gases are generated due to our daily activities and are present in the atmosphere in the form of the earth’s mantle, which again absorbs the hot rays of the sun and makes this earth a burning earth. The absorbed heat remains in the lower circle of the biosphere and increases the temperature level.
According to the data, it has been estimated that by 2050, the increase in the temperature of the earth will be about 4 degree to 5 degree Celsius. In the last 5 centuries, it has increased by about 1 degree Celsius whereas, half of its temperature has increased only in the 20th century. Therefore, global warming is at its peak and is constantly alerting us of its ill effects.
It is affecting almost all parts of the world and causes sea level rise, glacier melt and many more which surround the lowland islands. It is destroying vast forests, killing algae and causing acid rain. Acid rain is very dangerous, which destroys all the substances that come in contact with it.
Global warming is the cause of natural fires which can burn entire forests. The continuous increase in the temperature of the earth affects the growth of agricultural crops, forests, aquatic life and life on earth. This problem cannot be solved by the effort of only one country, it requires global efforts of all countries to reduce and eliminate it completely.
Good morning to my respected teacher and my dear friends, I want to give a speech on the topic of global warming in front of all of you today. Global warming is happening due to the continuous increase of green house gases in the earth’s atmosphere. Some greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, water evaporation, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone. When they collect in the lower environment, they form a cover that allows all the hot heat of the Sun to enter them easily while obstructing their return. This process is called green house effect. Such gases in the atmosphere trap hot radians and increase the temperature by keeping the Earth warm.
The level of greenhouse gases increases due to human activities like burning of trees, burning of fossils, use of electric light, refrigerator, microwave, air conditioner etc. Such activities emit carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in high level percentage into the atmosphere, which increases the temperature of the earth.
An increase in temperature in the atmosphere causes more water to evaporate from the Earth, water evaporation again absorbing more heat and warming the Earth’s atmosphere more. Global warming alters natural processes, rainfall patterns, timing of seasons, sea level rise, ecological balance and many more. This is a very powerful demon that affects our lives on a large scale so it needs to be resolved by the joint efforts of all on an immediate basis.
Good morning to my respected teacher and my dear colleagues. Nowadays, all of us are very well aware of the drastic changes in the climate. This is a growing serious issue due to global warming. It is a big issue for our future generations to face the challenges of all the changes in the environment due to this horrific irreversible disasters. Global warming has led to a regular increase in the temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere.
Earlier the rate of increase in temperature was slow, however, at present it is increasing very fast. The main cause of global warming are greenhouse gases like; Nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide, methane etc. These gases accumulate in the atmosphere and from all sources like; Increases temperature by absorbing heat produced by the sun and human activities (fossil fuels, burning of petroleum, deforestation, etc.). Global warming affects our planet in many ways.
Due to the increase in temperature in the environment, the Arctic glaciers have started melting and posing a threat to the polar bears. Melting glaciers have created large volumes of water, increasing the sea level in the lowlands of the southernmost islands. The rise in sea temperature has created problems for the life of aquatic animals. In order to reduce the ill effects of global warming, many rules have been made and implemented by the governments of different countries such as; Limiting harmful vehicle emissions, reducing emissions of chemicals that cause damage to the ozone layer, cutting down trees, planting trees, car pulling, etc.
We need to bring positive changes in our habits like – waste can be reduced by using reusable products in place of disposable products. We should buy products with less packing to reduce waste. We must recycle paper, newspapers, glasses, aluminum cans, etc. If we start recycling at least half of our household items, then we can prevent emissions of about 2400 pounds of carbon dioxide per day.
We should reduce the excessive use of electricity like – air condition, hair dryer, room heater etc. We should make a habit of turning off the electricity at night while sleeping or going out of the house during the day. We should use Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) lights in place of our regular bulbs. Continuous use of Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) in place of regular light bulbs will help in eliminating 90 pounds of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
We should reduce the unnecessary use of cars and vehicles or petroleum vehicles and use them very wisely so that there is minimum emission of harmful gases. As far as possible we should walk on foot instead of bike, car or other means of transport. As far as possible we should avoid using hot water and use cold water. In this way we can reduce global warming by reducing the use of electricity. Along with the change in our habits, we should also conserve energy by encouraging others to use less electricity as much as possible.
My respected teachers and teachers, my dear colleagues, classmates and friends present here, good morning to all of you, on this great occasion, I want to give a speech on the topic of global warming which is the most important environmental topic. Day by day, we are feeling major changes in the Earth’s atmosphere and climate. Gradually, the Earth’s atmosphere is warming, however, this process has become very fast in the last few years. We are facing many natural calamities these days as a result of global warming like; Earthquake, Tsunami, Cyclone, Hurricane etc. We are also experiencing major changes in the timing of seasons like; The summer season is getting longer and the winter season is getting shorter. Polar ice mountains and glaciers are melting on a large scale.
In some areas of the country, for a few decades, snowfall has decreased, spring has already arrived and flowers start blooming prematurely. Climate change on a large scale is an indicator of the ill effects of global warming for us. Birds are migrating from warmer regions to cooler regions, with sea storms occurring with very high intensity in the Atlantic Ocean. Sea level is rising continuously, glaciers are melting rapidly due to strong hot winds and waves, human health is deteriorating, climate is changing, weather system is changing, environment is increasing The temperature is adversely affecting the entire climate and other problems are arising due to human industrial activities.
The Earth’s surface atmosphere is increasing rapidly due to the primary causes of global warming such as; Green house effect of green house gases. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and dangerous ultraviolet rays accumulate in the atmosphere, which heats the environment. The rate of droughts and floods has increased rapidly due to global warming. Due to drought, there is no moisture in the soil of the fields, due to which farmers have to face many financial difficulties. The demand for fruits, vegetables and grains by the people around the world cannot be met due to drought. Thus, global warming has brought about food shortage all over the world.
Warm air in the atmosphere holds more moisture than cold air, which causes floods in many areas. Both drought and flood adversely affect crop production. These natural disasters affect the life of humans, animals and plants on many dimensions. Coral reefs are considered very important for aquatic life as they provide food and shelter to fish, crabs, sea turtles and other aquatic organisms. So global warming is a major threat to the existence of life on earth in future. It needs to be resolved by the global efforts of the people on an immediate basis, for a happy and prosperous life here.
