Speech on Indian Culture – 1
Honorable Chief Guest, Honorable Vice President, Respected Principal, Dear Fellow Teachers, Staff Members, Dear Students and Respected Parents,
As you all know that we are gathered here today for the inauguration of ABC Arts College, I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to deliver the welcome address on this auspicious occasion.
There are many exciting and popular topics like digitization, globalization, e-governance etc which I could think of but then I thought there is another important topic which we are forgetting in our busy life i.e. Indian culture.
Since our college will impart knowledge on arts so I thought this is the best opportunity to say few lines on our Indian culture.
Culture is the state of education or giving birth. It is the thoughts and philosophies of a specific society at a specific time. In fact culture is made up of morals and moral values that govern a society. Culture is the result of many factors like socio religious beliefs, customs, traditions etc. So it is important that we develop our culture with rich and positive thoughts.
India has always been considered as a culturally rich country in the world because of its unity in diversity. There are many states in India where different food dishes, traditions, beliefs, social customs, dress, language, festivals etc. are found. India is a vast country and all the major religions of the world are Hindu, Jain, Islam, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist and Zoroastrian etc.
The specialty of our country is secularism and the best part is that every citizen of India lives in unity and peace by respecting each other’s beliefs and culture. We celebrate every occasion with enthusiasm by praying, feasting, fairs, singing, dancing and wearing colorful clothes.
Students are the future of our country and we want all our students to imbibe our cultural values and promote harmony and peace in the country. It is seen that some anti-social elements have damaged the honor of the country and its rich heritage. We appeal to you not to be influenced by these but instead support the ideals of great people like Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, and Dr. BR Ambedkar.
In our college we celebrate all festivals like Diwali, Eid, Dussehra, Holi, Christmas, Vaisakhi, Onam, Guruparv, Pongal, Bihu etc and we request all those students to participate wholeheartedly in these festivities . The success of all these opportunities totally depends on your enthusiasm and innovative ideas while the college administration will always stand by you to provide all kind of help and support.
On one hand, where India is known for its cultural richness, on the other hand it has also achieved great fame and deserved place in the world of science. Now scientific temper has become an inseparable aspect of Indian culture and society.
Having said all this, I would like to say here that it is easy to give birth to a culture but it is very difficult to preserve it. Our elders made constant efforts over many years to create such a holistic and ethnically rich culture so it is important for us all to preserve it and I am sure we can be successful in doing that.
Speech on Indian Culture – 2
I welcome you all to this grand event. Hope you all are enjoying your life and are happy to be a part of this session.
Today I will share my thoughts on some interesting things about India. In the meantime, you think about it, till then I’ll share my point. It is the culture of India that attracts me the most. India is a unique blend of cultures, religions and beliefs. Hardly any other country in the world offers such a fascinating mix of a rich and diverse heritage that is as old as a civilization. Our country has an amazing ability to assimilate other beliefs as well as deeply influence other ideas and traditions.
Indian culture is completely made up of values that satisfy its soul. India’s social customs, religious and spiritual concepts, education, literature all come together and we call it our culture. It is also known as the mother of all cultures. All sectors, including music, dance, painting, sculpture and other art forms, agriculture, science, and industry, all follow their age-old traditions for centuries.
The strength of Indian culture has always been in its broadness, its ability to accept one’s own mind and assimilate other ideas completely. The basis of Indian culture has been to give respect to the elderly. We consider our guest as God, this is a very common cultural trend of this country.
India is a vast nation with a federal structure. There are 29 states and seven union territories that present a mixture of different cultures, languages, habits and religions, which distinguishes Indian culture from all over the world. Unity in diversity is the strength of Indian culture.
India also presents an enchanting variety in food habits. North Indian, South Indian, Mughlai, Continental etc. The various festivals celebrated in the country add to the peaceful coexistence of the people of different religions living in the country. Indian culture is actually the result of a continuous synthesis of many external influences over the course of its important and long journey.
Indian youth should feel proud to be associated with various cultural trends and should often be a part of them to showcase Indian cultural trends in their schools, colleges and institutions.
It is a wonder that India has been able to get rid of the calamity of the times, many external aggressions and centuries of foreign rule. This also strengthens my idea and interest to know more about Indian culture.
As citizens of this fascinating country, we should feel proud to be born in this civilization. It is a rare experience that amongst all the countries in India we find the right mix of diverse customs, beliefs and traditions. Along with being a part of this wonderful culture, we must ensure that we continue to create awareness among the generations to come. My message is to do things that make an impact in your life, as a result of which Indian culture gets enriched.
